Restaurant Style Black Beans

Don’t throw away the skins of your onions. Burn them to bring in prosperity.

I used to hate beans. I even got grounded once for not eating my grandma’s 7-bean stew. Then I worked in restaurants through high school and college and learned how to make beans that I love, like these.

1 can black beans
1/2 and onion - chopped
3 strips bacon - also chopped
pico de gallo

  1. Heat up bacon and onion in a medium pot over med-high on a stove top.

  2. Once these are crispy, dump entire can of beans and juice into pot.

  3. Lower heat to med-low, stir, pop on the lid, and simmer for 15-20 minutes.

  4. Stir in pico de gallo and serve. You can top with cheese and/or scallions.
