“Hey! Whatever happened to that blog you had?”

Once upon a time I had a popular food blog, but stupid life got in the way: family, work, hobbies, and then a pandemic.

Life in a crowded city during the years of Covid-19 turned us into true misanthropes, so we moved up into to the mountains for quiet and a much less peopley life. Alas, as we were building our new life of solitude, we had a house fire, and then two months later my mother passed.

Losing everything and being untethered both physically and mentally, I was wild for the first several months, grasping at anything to keep me busy. But, as the reconstruction of our house dragged on, my spirit sank. My therapist suggested a project, especially ones forcing me to maintain friendships, and I asked a friend to start a coven. She was excited.

The camaraderie worked, and soon I felt like cooking again. It could have also been almost dying during a ketamine session (told you I was wild for a bit) or just that one friend that asked “Hey! Whatever happened to that blog you had?”.

Whatever it was, it worked, and so I am rebuilding “that blog”, one recipe at a time. I tried to purchase my old website but they wanted $13K. I guess I should be flattered.

I’m still not back in my house, and will also need to rebuild my amazing stash of cooking ephemera, but I’m doing it and hope you can connect with me in some way. Perhaps you’ve had some major losses or other wild times, or maybe just some sympathy (or Schadenfreude) for those who have.

I will also offer up some mountain witch related items from my vintage shops once I get those back up. I hope you will connect with me on my socials for some chat about witchy things, mountain life, cooking, decorating, and maybe a little dancing.
